clarity doesn’t live outside you
Clarity doesn’t live outside of you.
So many times in my life I’ve wanted someone else to tell me what to do. What the right next step is. Whether I should say yes or no. Stay or go. Launch or wait. Rest or push through.
And sometimes, guidance is helpful — from mentors, therapists, bodyworkers, cards, signs, lyrics, an underlined passage in a book from long ago.
But there’s a difference between receiving support and completely handing over your power.
The truth is there’s a part of me that always knows. A quiet voice that doesn’t yell. A deep-down felt sense that takes time, stillness, and trust to hear.
It’s not always clear right away. Sometimes I have to walk away, cry, take a bath, go on a hike, or move the confusion through my body to finally hear the clarity underneath.
But it’s there.
And the more I honor that voice — even when it’s inconvenient or slow or doesn’t make sense to anyone else — the stronger it gets.
Reminder to self —
You don’t have to figure it out in someone else’s voice or follow someone else’s playbook.
Come back to your body. To yourself. Move from there.
