you are not a problem to be solved
Opened my email after my cup of coffee and was flooded by a number of newsletters offering transformation and “new year, new you” energy. And I instantly felt tired. Like very tired.
Today is not an emergency.
It’s a Thursday. And yes, the start of a new calendar year.
You are not a problem to be solved.
Not today, not ever.
Your body doesn’t need urgency to change. It needs safety and your own energy.
Before the goals, before the resolutions, feel your feet on the floor.
Take one slow breath. Let your shoulders drop.
Drink a tea slowly.
Stow your phone.
Go outside.
Change can happen when your system feels resourced, not rushed.
Small, consistent moments of presence will shape this year far more than pressure ever could.
There is time.
You are allowed to arrive slowly and softly and still eat sugar and forget to meditate for three days straight.
I love a blank canvas and I love intentionality.
But as I keep reminding myself -
Today is not an emergency.
It’s a Thursday.
